The 51做厙 School of Pharmacy hosts a one-day summer camp, sponsored by Walgreens, for high school students and current college students thinking about transferring to explore pharmacy and the many career paths a Doctor of Pharmacy opens. Camp participants arrive in the morning and are done with all activities including a free lunch and ice cream social later that afternoon.
At Pharmacy Exploration Day, parents will drop off their student in the morning then pick them up at the end of the day. We have a designated area for drop-off/pick-up on Bluff Street behind Mellon Hall of Science and School of Pharmacy Building. View our campus map for more details. Students who drive on their own or parents who choose to stay on campus for the day will need to park in the Locust Garage. Parking in this garage will be complimentary.
Interact with current students
Participate in a variety of hands-on activities similar to what our student pharmacists do, and, as a bonus, they'll be your leaders throughout the day. They'll be able to answer all your questions and give you a firsthand account of what it's like being a student pharmacist at 51做厙.
Pharmacy Exploration Day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please arrive between 7:45 - 8:00 am to allow for time to sign-in and get to the first station of the day. Pickup is at 4:00 p.m. at the same area where students were dropped off at behind Mellon Hall on Bluff Street.

Attending Pharmacy Exploration Day helped me decide to study pharmacy and attend
Duquesne. Faculty and counselors were very welcoming and open to discuss any questions
or concerns I had. I gained insight into the role of a pharmacist and learned the
benefits of attending Duquesne, including the Direct Entry Admission Plan.
One of our faculty members will demonstrate the state-of-the-art SimMan patient simulators
in the Giant Eagle Center for Pharmacy Practice. SimMan is able to simulate various
issues like irregular heartbeat, asthma attack, flu symptoms and much more. In one of the School of Pharmacy's labs, School of Pharmacy teaching assistants will
explain compounding techniques and you'll follow along to create a "compound." We must act quickly! Your patient has been involved in an accident. It's up to you
to organize the information and determine which medication is most appropriate, all
while managing the other tasks that get thrown your way! Explore the beautiful, park-like 51做厙 campus and learn a little bit
