Biography
Dr. Matarazzo graduated from St. Francis University’s Physician Assistant Program with her Master of Physician Assistant Sciences degree in 2010. After graduation, she worked in trauma surgery at Allegheny Health Network (first at Allegheny General Hospital and then at Forbes Hospital) until 2014. Wanting to increase her surgical skills, she switched to Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and worked there until 2023.
Service is very important to her and she has gone on short-term international mission trips to Guatemala, Haiti, Liberia, and Cuba, and Nicaragua to provide free medical care and education. She also volunteers at the local Penn Hills free clinic, Sheep, Inc.
In January of 2024 she joined the staff of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Duquesne as a full-time faculty member. She teaches Clinical Seminar I, II, and III, Seminar in Diagnostic Test Interpretation, and Clinical Simulation.
