Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Business Administration

The M.B.A./Pharm.D. joint degree requires a total of 238 credits. Students who successfully complete all requirements will receive two degrees and two diplomas. The Pharm.D. degree must be conferred prior to or simultaneously with the M.B.A. degree. A student who is dismissed from the Pharm.D. program will be automatically dismissed from the M.B.A. program, as well. Readmission to the M.B.A. program may be considered after the conferral of a bachelor's degree.

How to Apply


Students will begin their study in the School of Pharmacy. Students must apply and be accepted to both programs of study.

Tuition Information


While the student is enrolled in both the Pharm.D. and M.B.A. programs, the Pharm.D. program will take priority and the Pharmacy tuition rate will apply for all terms except:

  • Any term during which a student is enrolled exclusively in M.B.A. courses
  • The summer terms during which students take only 0.5 credits of Pharmacy courses, if the student is also enrolled in M.B.A. courses

51°µÍø School of Pharmacy Professional Licensure Disclosure

The 51°µÍø School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and meets all requirements for the conferral of the Pharm.D. degree. Students who earn the Pharm.D. degree will be eligible for licensure in all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on the academic curriculum. Attainment of the Pharm.D. degree is one element of the state licensure process for pharmacists.

In addition to the Pharm.D. degree, candidates for pharmacist licensure must also pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) to be a licensed pharmacist in the United States. Most states also require passing the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) to obtain a pharmacist license in that state.

Some states may have additional requirements for pharmacist licensure. Applicants and current students should consult individual state boards for information regarding specific requirements to attain a pharmacist license in that state.
The Flex M.B.A./Pharm.D. requires a total of 238 credits.
Students will complete all required coursework for the Flex M.B.A. and Pharm.D. programs with the following exceptions:
  • Nine (9) credits of Pharm.D. electives will be satisfied by M.B.A. coursework.
